Joaquin Phoenix takes the lead in Ridley Scotts new historical biopic, alongside The Crowns Vanessa Kirby.

This week at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, France, Apple Original Films hosted the world premiere of the highly anticipated drama, “Napoleon”…

Depicting one of the most consequential figures in all of European history as a sourpuss clown who crazily rattles off nonsense is a brow-raising choice by Ridley Scott, screenwriter David Scarpa and the always peculiar Joaquin Phoenix. But that’s what this Napoleon is — a fool.

Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby play the Revolutionary War leader and his wife Josephine in Ridley Scott’s historical epic, 'Napoleon.'

Ridley Scott’s Napoleon has stunning battle scenes, cinematography that looks like oil painting, and a brilliant Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, while Vanessa Kirby is resolute as Empress Josephine.

This movie is long, ridiculous, epic, silly, problematic and quite the talk of the town.
