A new addition to the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail in Birmingham has officially been opened. The Freshwater Land Trust made the announcement that the Bryant-Jordan Trail Spur is now open to the public as of Tuesday morning. The 4.62 acre trail was created after a land donation was made by The Bryant-Jordan Scholar Athlete Foundation, Inc.

Officials on Tuesday announced an action plan to complete a 36-mile trail loop that is part of the Red Rock Trail System.

According to a news release, this is Pinson's first trash collection device, aimed to clean waterways in our area.

One trail visitor says the fence has merely been relocated. While it no longer blocks the trail, outdoor enthusiast Ginny Brown says the new fence still affects visitors and wildlife.
