Incoming CSC Commissioner Ryan Alvin Acosta (Screengrab from CA confirmation hearing live video) MANILA - The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of lawyer Ryan Alvin Acosta as a new commissioner of the Civil Service Commission (CSC). Acosta, current Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs, will serve as commissioner of the government's central human resources agency until Feb. 2, 2027. He will replace Leopoldo Roberto Valderosa who retired in February 2020. Prior to his confirmation, Acosta vowed to push for online examinations to ensure that civil service examination takers will be protected from coronavirus transmission, as part of efforts to ensure continuity of government operations amid the pandemic.
