To our readers, Maine’s Forest Opportunity Roadmap to hold virtual summit Apr 08, 2021 Augusta — Maine’s Forest Opportunity Roadmap, or FOR/Maine, announced today the upcoming release of its Workforce Development Strategy for the Forest Products Industry. The strategy will be released as part of a virtual summit Friday, April 9, “Forwarding the Future of Maine’s Forest Bioeconomy.” The summit is free to attend. “This Workforce Development Strategy is a significant component of the plan to drive growth in the Forest Products Industry to reach $12 million in economic output by the year 2025,” said Steve Schley, chair of the FOR/Maine steering committee. “A well-equipped workforce is the only way we can achieve our goals for growing this sector. The summit on Friday will feature a lot of useful information to help the industry attain this goal, and the workforce development strategy is a highly anticipated part of the overall roadmap.”

KU Nursing Students Conduct Temperature Checks to Support Pediatric Patients Several Keiser University Daytona Beach campus Nursing Program students recently volunteered to do temperature checks and ticket scanning at the Daytona 500 ‘Speedweek’ events to benefit pediatric patients.   Director of Student Services Lynne Carr and Nursing Instructor Marilene Lacson, the group was thankful for the opportunity to donate their wages to support The Betty Jane France Pediatric Center at Halifax Health which is also  known as ‘Speediatrics.’   Designed with the idea of caring for the whole family, Speediatrics rooms are brightly decorated with a NASCAR racing them, and create a cheerful and reassuring environment for pediatric patients and their family members. Speediatrics cares for more than 2,000 children each year, including those in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Keiser University Students Gain Career Insights from Cleveland Clinic Leader Posted on December 29, 2020 on Seahawk Nation Keiser University Port St. Lucie campus students recently gained recruitment and career insights from Stacey Rhodewalt, a Senior Talent Recruiter from Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. Associate of Science in Information Technology program learners were thankful to learn more about the many professional opportunities in their field. Developed by the Department of Student Services, the career preparedness program is designed to help students better understand employer expectations while assisting companies in recruiting graduates. Participants regularly gain interview tips and career pathway information as they partake in a variety of mock interviews and question and answer sessions.
