The New York Rangers defeated the Arizona Coyotes 2-1 in what was a very exciting home opener full of action and chaos.

NEW YORK -- The New York Rangers received good news ahead of their home opener Tuesday night against the Arizona Coyotes.

It is apparent that the Rangers cannot afford to lose Ryan Lindgren, who is a quintessential Black-and-Blueshirt.

Vincent Trocheck scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and Igor Shesterkin stopped a penalty shot with under five minutes remaining as the New York Rangers beat the Arizona Coyotes 2-1 on Monday night to win their home opener.

The Rangers didn’t have the same oomph to their five-on-five offense as the previous two games, but that’s what power-play opportunities are for.

There is an art to managing a team’s extra skaters, especially if said team has lengthy playoff aspirations like the Rangers.

In a hard-fought battle between the two clubs, the New York Rangers emerged as the victors in a 2-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

That was all part of the Yankees’ worst season in decades: They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and finished with their fewest wins (82) in a full season since 1992, wasting a year of Aaron Judge’s and Gerrit Cole’s primes. So where do the Yankees go from here?

All in all, the first road trip of the Rangers’ season was a positive starting point for a work-in-progress team.
