The Reserve Bank of India has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2000 denomination banknotes with immediate effect.

After the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 banknotes from circulation, people will rush to the banks to deposit or exchange the notes. Here is what you should do in case the bank refuses to facilitate this RBI mandated services.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on May 19 said it is withdrawing Rs 2,000 notes from circulation based on a review. However, the banknotes of Rs 2,000 denomination will continue to be legal tender, the central bank said in a release.
