As the most popular pro sport in America, the NFL makes headlines 365 days a year. For the first time since 1978, when the slate went from 14 to 16 games, the NFL lengthened the regular season again this year. The 2021 NFL schedule was released on May 12 and all 32 teams will play 17 games over an 18-week season. That means NFL fans get an added week of NFL betting and fantasy football action. It also affects win total bets.
a blip, or a sign of a deeper issue?
Patrick Mahomes’ worst game came behind an offensive line missing both starting tackles, against a defense peaking at the right time. Kansas City will presumably have Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz back and fully healthy for 2021, but will the Chiefs go for some extra offensive line depth, anyway? If they don’t, and instead try to grab another wide receiver, it might be a sign that the Super Bowl was a perfect storm, where everything that could go wrong did. If for some reason the offensive line issues are more than just a byproduct of injuries, Kansas City must address them in the draft.

I think the free agents on the defensive side are a little more difficult to predict. However, I still do not think many of them are going to be highly sought in free agency. With a reduced cap, many teams badly over what a normal cap would be, and many teams having to setting their quarterback situation, this free agency is going to be hell on solid veteran role players. I could be wrong, but I think that most of the Chiefs defensive free agents are hitting free agency at the worst possible time for their situations. I will again predict that I think many players across the league will be playing for close to the veteran minimum.
Opening statement: Injury wise, (T) Jedrick Wills (Jr.) has an ankle injury, (DE) Myles (Garrett) has an oblique injury and (T) Kendall Lamm has an elbow injury. Obviously, we will get more information on those tomorrow. I am extremely disappointed that we were not able to get the job done today. We had our opportunity there late in that ball game, and we did not do it. We are going to share in this defeat like we share in those victories, and it hurts. There is a finality to this one when you do not get it done in the playoffs, and that really hurts. I appreciate how our guys battled. They fought like they do every single week, and it just was not enough today.
