KOTA KINABALU: The present hot weather, which will continue until mid-September, is not expected to go beyond 40 degrees Celsius, says Sabah Meteorological Department.
Its director Amir Zudi Hashim said the lower humidity of the winds brought by the southwest monsoon, which resulted in lesser cloud formation and rainfall, was the reason for the current drier climate in the country.
So far, only two areas in Sabah namely Beluran and Paitan registered a temperature of 35°C to 36°C for three days in a row, he added.
