The city and county of Sacramento are opening weather respite centers ahead of forecasted storms which could bring around an inch of rain to the valley this weekend.
The project looks to add a passing track at Glenn Drive Station to provide 15-minute train service to stations at Hazel Avenue, Iron Point Road and Historic Folsom.
The National Weather Service says there is the possibility of thunderstorms in the valley from 2 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday, which could bring lightning, hail and gusty winds.
