The 18 year old won a gold and silver at the US Revolution Tour last week and has qualified eighth for Saturday s final in the slopestyle.
Cavanagh says Wakushima is quickly working her way up the ranks.
Zoi Sadowski Synott topped the qualifiers with Nico Porteous qualifying fourth for the men s halfpipe final.
