The 29 year old mother from the Kuppiyawatta area, has given birth by caesarean section to two girls and two boys, the Hospital sources said.
Doctors say this is the first time in the world that a Covid infected mother has given birth to quadruplets by caesarean section.
She was admitted to De Zoysa Women s Hospital on the 30th of last month for childbirth. A PCR test has found her positive for the COVID-19 virus.
