Reopening of Pigeon Island National Landmark Share this post: Following numerous requests from patrons to the Pigeon Island National Landmark (PINL), the Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) carried out a survey on the opening hours of the Landmark. Pigeon Island National Landmark The findings of the survey indicated that 99 % of patrons would like to have the Landmark open later on weekends, during the period of the year that has longer daylight hours. The SLNT is pleased to inform members and patrons that from May 8, 2021, the opening hours for PINL on Saturdays and Sundays shall be adjusted from 9.30am-5pm to 10.30am-6pm.

The Trust and the Archaeological and Historical Society have been lobbying the Government of Saint Lucia and Cabot Saint Lucia to give due respect to the burial ground which they say contains artifacts of the island’s first inhabitants that could be of extreme value to the country.

SLNT Points to Weakness in Archaeological Survey Share this post: THE Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) yesterday released a statement on the archaeological survey undertaken by Cabot Saint Lucia. Here is the statement in its entirety: The Saint Lucia National Trust received a copy of the 2021 Archaeological Assessment of the Cas en Bas Priority One Area of the Cabot (Saint Lucia) development yesterday and is currently reviewing the findings and recommendations. However, given the extensive public interest in this matter, we consider it appropriate to make this statement on our initial reactions to the Assessment and the methodology used to generate it.
