Poetry as Refuge: Eric McHenry, Former Poet Laureate of Kansas, Visits Seward County Community College on Monday, Aug. 29th
I had the chance to check in with Eric McHenry, Associate Professor of English at Washburn University and former KS Poet Laureate (2015-17), about his forthcoming trip to Liberal, KS. He'll be doing a discussion/lecture and writing workshop with SCCC students in the library this Monday at noon CT. We talked about the unique sense of place that the Sunflower State inspires in its residents, and how there's nothing like getting lost in poems about Kansas.
