talk about the current nonfiction books featured on c-span s book tv. and welcome to about books. this is book tv s program and podcast looking at the business of publishing. in just a few minutes, we re going to dive into the world of political books. our guest is peter osnos longtime publishing executive author and founder of public affairs books but first a look at the sales numbers when it comes to one specific category of political books, and these are memoirs from former top aides in the trump administration. now according to politico sales of some recent books by former trump aides trail those that were released during his presidency. for example, former white house coronavirus response coordinator, dr. deborah burks. wrote a book called silent invasion this year and it was released in april and it sold 6,000 copies so far. former defense secretary mark esper wrote a sacred oath. it was released in may and it has sold 21,000 copies. kellyanne, conway s here s the deal

Some may be surprised to see a republican speaking out to support equal pay. My friends on the other side of the aisle have made quite an effort to politicize this issue claiming republicans, well we dont care about equal pay. I am hear to state unevequivalently that is ridiculous. Equal pay for equal work is a shared american value. At its core, equal pay is about basic fairness and insuring every woman, like every man, has the opportunity to build the life she choses. For over half a century, the equal pay act and the Civil Rights Act enabled women to make significant economic strides. Any violation of these important laws are illegal and thags be punished to the full extent of the law. But i believe that we can also go further. Congress now has the opportunity to recommit itself to this issue and ins
