Were on interstate 80 now, all this happened after the Police Car Chase and shootout that began in richmond this morning. The standoff happened following a pursuit on interstate 80 eastbound just past the exit shortly before 9 00 a. M. They say ever say he was holding a gun. One witness says she saw what happened. They told the guy to get out of the car and he wouldnt get out. It was at least about 20 minutes. They fired nonlethal weapons but the suspect didnt surrender. The driver got out of the car and began firing. One heard 50 gunshots. They shot one and he stuck his hands out. This time, he got out and he pointed the gun and shot him. The police shot him dead. Fairfield and Richmond Police officers say they tried negotiating with the driver of this dark chevy suburban. They say he was holding a gun. One witness saw what happened.
