Now, six days after a devastating typhoon hit the philippines, the situation for hundreds of thousands of victims remains desperate. They have nothing to eat and no place to stay. Aid has been slow to arrive. This morning the United Nations said it distributed rice and water to 49,000 victims in hardhit tacloban. The death toll now stands at over 2,300. Mass burials began today. The red cross estimates 22,000 are missing. The american Aircraft Carrier George Washington arrived this morning, tripling the number of helicopters available for relief work.
