+ April 21, 2021 THE National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) lauded community pantries nationwide for helping provide food for the needy amid the Covid-19 pandemic, a move that complements the agency’s Kaisa ng Sambayanan Laban sa Kahirapan (Kasambayanihan) Volunteers Program that undertakes similar efforts at the barangay level.
Speaking before the NAPC’s second virtual general assembly for April, Secretary Noel Felongco cited the pantries as an exemplary example of the “bayanihan” spirit of the Filipinos.

+ March 11, 2021 THE Municipalities of Asturias, Tuburan and Carmen in Cebu have entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) to support the “Sambayanihan Serbisyong Sambayanan” or the 3S, its five-year (2019-2023) development program that aims to achieve 14 percent or lower poverty rate in the country.
Noel Felongco, NAPC Secretary and lead convenor, said one of the strategies the NAPC and the local government units will implement is the creation of a Municipal Poverty Reduction Action Office headed by an appointed focal person of the municipality.
He said the NAPC, in turn, will organize a volunteers’ program to support the office.
LAGUNA, Feb. 16 As part of the intensified efforts of the agency to uplift the lives of the poor, the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC)represented by Secretary and Lead Convenor Noel Felongco entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Municipality of Majayjay, Laguna represented by Municipal Mayor Carlo Clado last September 2019 to implement the Poverty Reduction for Rural Development (PRRD) project entitled Majayjay Integrated Herbarium and Vegetable Trading Outpost through the funding support from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
This was followed by a planning session, which was presided by NAPC Head Executive Assistant Elias Labro wherein he identified the necessary steps regarding the project such as the issuance of an Executive Order by the LCE reconstituting the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT); the issuance of NAPC operational guidelines on the project implementation; the Kasambayanihan volunteers capacity building
