Is Dan Fogelberg s “Same Old Lang Syne” the “worst thing to come out of Peoria?”
I’m not sure about the “worst. There are a lot of answers there, among politicians alone.
But right now, I’m thinking the worst thing to come out of Peoria would be Jean Baptiste DuSable, who headed north to settle what would become Chicago. And if he hadn’t ever left Peoria, then perhaps there never would’ve been a Chicago or Chicago Tribune and, thus, I wouldn’t have had the misfortune to read this week’s anti-Fogelberg drivel.
The story decries “Same Old Lang Syne” as “the worst Christmas song in the history of Christmas songs.” Apparently, the writer has never heard the Chipmunks oeuvre, or anything about a grandma and a reindeer. Whatever.
