The Supreme Court will begin hearing on a batch of petitions seeking legal validation of same-sex marriage on Tuesday, a day after the Centre submitted a counter affidavit against the same, calling it an urban elitist view.
A five-judge Constitution bench of the SC comprising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and Justices S K Kaul, Ravindra Bhat, Hima Kohli, and PS Narasimha, is set to hear Tuesday a clutch of petitions seeking legal recognition for same-sex marriages.
