Boat, a homegrown wearables brand in India, believes that the local electronics industry needs engineering and design support from Chinese companies due to a lack of capabilities. However, Boat aims to reduce its dependence on Chinese suppliers in the long run to become self-reliant. The company acknowledges that China plays a significant role in the electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
