University of Alberta researchers are using artificial intelligence to improve how diseases are diagnosed with a new model created in part by a student killed on Flight PS752 in Tehran, Iran. The team of computer scientists created a new deep-learning model a type of machine learning that uses algorithms to find patterns, then make models and predictions that helps a computer learn to identify diseases on medical scans faster and more accurately.
