Samsung chief accepts prison term for bribery scandal

SEOUL, Jan. 25 (UPI) Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong decided not to appeal a court ruling that has imprisoned him for the second time in four years.
On Jan. 18, the Seoul High Court sentenced Lee to 30 months in prison for bribing former South Korean President Park Geun-hye in order to win government support in strengthening his control over Samsung.

The imprisonment of Lee Jae-yong, Samsung Electronics vice chairman, has put the entire Samsung empire s future business management in limbo and is likely to put on hold any major investments and M&A decisions for the foreseeable future.
