Image Source: IANS News Hyderabad, May 11 : The Telangana government on Tuesday decided to invite global tenders to procure Covid-19 vaccine on a war-footing. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The low vaccine supply has already forced the state authorities to stop vaccination except for those taking the second dose. The government has already announced that the entire population of the state will be vaccinated free of cost.

In the wake of the surge in Covid-19 cases, the State Cabinet has decided to implement the lockdown for 10 days from 10 am starting on Wednesday i.e. May 12 till May 21. The Cabinet has also decided that all activities will be allowed from 6 am to 10 am every day. Cabinet decisions: - The Cabinet has decided to impose a lockdown for 10 days from 10 a.m. starting tomorrow on Wednesday, May 12th. For the needs of the people, restrictions will be lifted every day from 6 am to 10 pm for people to buy essential and emergency services.

As COVID Cases Surge, Telangana Enhances Bed Strength For COVID Patients May 02, 2021, 16:31 IST Telangana: Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary, directed officials on Saturday to add 10,000 beds to government hospitals with oxygen supplies, bringing the total number of beds to 20,000. While the number of beds available for Covid-19 patients has been increased from 18,232 to 49,113 in both government and private hospitals, it will be increased further to reach a total of 60,000 beds. The Chief Minister has directed that the number of Covid beds has to be increased in the hospitals of NIMS (500), Sarojini Devi (200), Chest Hospital (50), Gandhi (200), and TIMS (200). Further, the Covid beds in area hospitals like Golconda (100), Malakpet (100), Vanasthalipuram (100), Ameerpet (50) will establish within a week.
