Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair recently received four state awards and one from the international level.

DUDLEY — Vickie Johnson has lost count of the number of ribbons her exhibits have won at the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair, but it is probably in the hundreds.

The home team triumphed 5-4 over their Northern rivals in a nail-biting game finally decided on penalties. However, the game in July 1985 wasn’t played at the Manor Ground at Headington or at Old Trafford in Manchester, and the players weren’t fully-grown men battling it out on the pitch.
