Hari Padman, a senior dancer teacher at Kalakshetra Foundation's Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, was arrested by the Adyar All Women Police Station on April 3 on various sexual harassment charges.
The Tamil Nadu State Women’s Commission had opposed the bail on the grounds that it had received statements regarding sexual harassment at Kalakshetra from over 100 students.
The committee informed on the portal that the names of the complainants and witnesses shall not be shared with any persons connected with the management of Kalakshetra.
A writ of Mandamus dated April 11 was filed by the students, who requested to remain anonymous throughout the proceeding to avoid discriminatory treatment from the college.
