Miss Connecticut, Miss Connecticut s Outstanding Teen 2021 crowned at Mohegan Sun
They are the first to be crowned in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of the 2020 competition.

MONTVILLE, Conn. The new titleholders for Miss Connecticut and Miss Connecticut s Outstanding Teen for 2021 were crowned this past weekend at Mohegan Sun.
They are the first to be crowned in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of the 2020 competition.
Miss Connecticut 2021 is Sapna Raghavan, of Ellington, and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen 2021 is Aicha Diallo, of West Haven.

Mohegan Winners of the Miss Connecticut and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen competitions were crowned this weekend at Mohegan Sun, the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization announced Monday.
Sapna Raghavan of Ellington was named Miss Connecticut 2021. Aicha Diallo of West Haven was named Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen 2021.
Raghavan, 22, who served as Miss Pleasant Valley and Forever Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen 2015, will compete in the Miss America competition at Mohegan Sun in December. She has been awarded a $10,000 in scholarship. Diallo, 16, who served as Miss Greater Hamden’s Outstanding Teen and will compete in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition, won $2,500 in scholarships.

Burlington’s Jillian Duffy and Woodbury’s Lindiana Frangu held on to their respected crowns for a year longer than anyone else has in the history of the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization. This month, the two women finally give up their titles.

Miss Connecticut Jillian Duffy, a Lewis S. Mills High School graduate, will crown her successor when the 2021 pageant takes place at Mohegan Sun on April 10-11.
Duffy, Miss Connecticut, and Frangu, Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen, have held their titles for nearly two years. But the duo did not greedily refuse to give up their crowns and sashes. Instead, world events undermined their best efforts to finally welcome their successors.
