The 16th edition of Indo-US joint military exercise Yudh Abhyas commenced in Rajasthan s Bikaner on February 8 and will continue till February 21.
US Army Commander Colonel J Bodwell and Indian Army Brigadier Mukesh Bhanwala took the salute of the parade and duly launched the combined exercise by blowing up the baloon.
The exercise near the India-Pakistan border aims at enhancing cooperation and interoperability between the two armies and focuses on counter-terrorism operations under the United Nations mandate.

Jaipur: On the occasion of 49th anniversary of Fazilka Vijay Diwas, Lieutenant General Alok Kler, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command visited Asafwala War Memorial on 17 December 2020 for the wreath-laying ceremony and paid rich tributes to the ‘Saviours of Fazilka’ who made supreme sacrifice for the motherland during 1971 Indo-Pak War.
Fazilka Vijay Diwas is celebrated as a mark of remembrance for 218 soldiers of Indian Army and their gallant comrades who bravely fought the battle of Beriwala for 14 days and succeeded in resoundingly defeating the Pakistan Army thereby stoutly defending Fazilka.
