Steps stressed to stop dengue in Punjab July 26, 2021 LAHORE: Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam has directed the officers concerned to intensify dengue prevention activities across the Punjab. She appealed to the public to take special care of cleanliness and no garbage should be thrown in open places. Precautionary measures against dengue are very important. Citizens should be more responsible in preventing dengue during monsoon especially rainwater should not accumulate in residential areas, she said. During the last 24 hours, one new confirmed case of dengue reported across the province. A total of two confirmed dengue patients are under treatment, one in Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi and one in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi, across the whole province.

Drive to vaccinate people at doorstep from today July 26, 2021 LAHORE:The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is launching a special vaccination campaign in five big cities of Punjab from July 26 to August 10 to vaccinate the people at their doorstep at the union council level. According to P&SHD Secretary Sarah Aslam, a minimum 40 per cent population of Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad would be vaccinated in the special campaign. Moreover, a minimum 70 per cent population of Rawalpindi will also be vaccinated during the campaign. The campaign is being launched at the level of the union council for public convenience. Special instructions for intensive vaccination drive have been given to all CEOs and other officers concerned. Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam said only vaccination was the real remedy for COVID-19 and its new Delta variant.

Door-to-door corona vaccination for 5 Punjab cities planned

July 25, 2021 LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to launch a door-to-door coronavirus vaccination campaign from July 26 in five cities of the province Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi to meet the targets set by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC). The decision was taken in a meeting jointly chaired by Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and the Punjab chief secretary at the Civil Secretariat on Saturday. The minister told the meeting that the NCOC had set a target of vaccinating 40% of the population over 18 years of age in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan, and 70% of the Rawalpindi population by August 14. She said that the number of vaccination centres in Lahore was being increased to facilitate more people.
