GUWAHATI: The National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi, will be conducting a state-level exam for the first time for Assam.
The Assam government has roped in the central agency for conducting the maths and science olympiad of 2021 where thousands of government school students will be sitting for the test on March 21. “It’s going to be an olympiad to test the mettle of school children. Our tasks in the past were confined to entrance tests and higher-level exams conducted pan-India,” B Muralidharan, senior adviser at NTA, told TOI on Wednesday.
The olympiad was earlier conducted by a maths society based in Assam. The NTA said the test will enable students to get an idea of the true test of concepts, motivate them to work harder and improve performance in school.
