Saskatchewan man charged with child porn offences

On May 27 members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Moosomin that was identified as the location where the offences were occurring. Electronic items were located and found to contain child pornography and evidence of the offences.  Knutilla was released from custody and placed on numerous conditions by a Justice of the Peace and will next be appearing in Moosomin Circuit Court on July 20. The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.

(Herald file photo) Charges have been laid against a Prince Albert man who is accused of accessing child porn through social media. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) announced the charges Wednesday. The investigation began on Dec. 29. A search warrant was executed at a Prince Albert residence Wednesday that police say was the location where the offences occurred. According to a press release, child pornography was located and several electronic items were seized. Ryan Clark-McDonald, 20, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possessing child pornography and making child pornography available. He was due for a first court appearance on April 29.

Repeat Offender Sentenced Related To Child Pornography Charges

In Saskatoon Provincial Court this week, 55 year old Kelly Beleznay was sentenced for possession and for accessing child porn. RCMP say in February of 2020, complaints came in about a person accessing child porn through a popular internet browser. Last June, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Blaine Lake RCMP Detachment executed a search warrant at a home in Hafford where child porn was found and a laptop and electronic storage devices were seized. Beleznay was sentenced to four years in jail, a DNA order, his name will be added to the sex offender registry and after his release he will be banned from accessing social media and communicating online with children and from going to parks and playgrounds or anywhere that children might gather, for 15 years.

N B man gets 20 months in prison for child luring

After Blackstar is released from prison he will be on probation for three years. He must also submit a DNA sample.   Blackstar was arrested by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) in September 2020 after ICE received a complaint about a man enticing a 16-year-old girl from the Saskatoon area through a popular online chat application to engage in sexual activity at a local hotel or other location. The ICE investigation identified the girl who said a man took her to his hotel room in June and sexually assaulted her. The investigation also revealed that the man was grooming the girl through the exchange of naked pictures after they became online friends. The ICE Unit identified Blackstar as the suspect.
