satellite coverage has gaps, it depends where the satellites are flying and cloud cover, if a plane is flying under cloud cover, you can t necessarily see it. weather was clear and beautiful. if the satellite is not in a position to see, it will not see. it can only see where the camera lens is trains. we don t have every square inch of earth. it got a tuneup ten days before the incidents. two months after september 11th, the plane went down on long island, we all instan thely feared it was terrorism. didn t turn out to be terrorism it was a civilian crash, we need to be reserved here, we should be guarded and not jump to conclusions. let people think it could be terrorism. i agree with you wholeheartedly, i don t want to fear the word terrorism. my mind goes there first in a post 9/11 world, i think it should, and i don t apologize for that. there s a mysterious reluctance

area of the world that frankly is not well covered on radar, not well covered with satellite coverage. i think once you leave that indonesian coast, if, in fact, the plane was flying over the indonesian island of sumatra into the indian ocean, there aren t that many assets out there. we may be in a situation where, you know, this is all conject e conjecture, but if the plane flew into the indian ocean, we re going to be waiting until some piece of wreckage is spotted somewhere in that massive body of water. if the plane continued flying up over into vietnam, we may be waiting to hear if there s some wreckage spotted in the vietnamese highlands or china or laos for that matter. if the plane disintigrated over the south china sea, by now we should have seen some wreckage somewhere, but there s nothing. quickly, the pilot s final communication with air traffic

obviously mean the other pieces were there s a lot of things here you have to buy into. do you think this is the plane? i don t. i ve examined the satellite image carefully and when you are examining a satellite image you are concerned about certain factors. shape. size. texture. and light refraction. things can look different. the only thing big in an ocean even though this is a huge airplane, the only thing big in the ocean is the ocean. everything else is small. when we zoomed into the image that s within the center of that satellite coverage, what we found was that there is the appearance of having the nose cone of a fuselage and two windows that would appear to be the cockpit. but the pattern and shape of the actual wreckage or whatever we have there wouldn t strike me as being the pattern of an accident scene in the ocean.

on target, information. you can t get it necessarily from nsa, as good as nsa and as good as the satellite coverage is, you have to have people who can talk to people on the ground. and president saakashvili just said the satellites were pointed there. but to the general s point it s not enough to get all the information you need. what about this point that he raises. that is, what is the legitimate government? a lot of people are critical of the united states that seems to champion people toppling governments when they don t like the guy who was in power, and out of the other side of their mouth saying that the united states supports democracy and democratically-elected governments. how does this play out in this particular case, where you had a government, a quote/unquote bad guy in the american point of view, who was toppled by crowds, and now we re saying, this is a legitimate government. first of all, president yanukovych wasn t a bad guy just a couple of months ago. right.
