The federal fiscal year ended and the performance grades for the contractors at the Savannah River Site have been released. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and Savannah River Mission received grades of "very good" according to recently released Department of Energy evaluations of their performance. Battelle Savannah River Alliance and Centerra received grades of "excellent."

Los Alamos could produce first war reserve pit in 2024 | Savannah River Site

The Department of Energy is nearing the production of the first war reserve plutonium pit, the No.2 official in the National Nuclear Security Administration said recently. Los Alamos National Laboratory is hoping to produce the first war reserve plutonium pit this year, Frank Rose, principal deputy director of the National Nuclear Security Administration, said during a Jan. 8 visit to the Savannah River Site.
