What initially appeared to be a straightforward planning application to build a £10 million geothermal rum distillery at a former tin mine has turned into a three-way âbattleâ between the applicant, Historic England and stock car racing fans.
Latest developments have seen Historic England airing its concerns about the impact the rum distillery would have on the World Heritage Site at United Downs, near Redruth.
