PEA RIDGE -- Continuing a yearslong tradition, members of the First Baptist Church, along with Bright Futures and many volunteers, hosted a Back to School Bash on Saturday to provide school supplies and clothes to children in the Pea Ridge School District.

Have you heard about the big Back to School Bash being held this Sunday in Jacksonville?

The community center is back to normal hours and the pool under temporary hours after multiple COVID cases prompted a weekend cleaning.

Backpacks and other school supplies were handed out while families were also able to be fit for car seats, get hygiene and general health information.

Springfield YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois, Lincoln Library, District 186 and more organizations attended.

Backpacks and supplies were distributed at Faith Mission Church in time for Alachua County students to return to class Tuesday, Aug. 10.
