Consultants from School Exec Connect convened several focus groups composed of staff, students, parents, administrators, business leaders and other community members to learn what they would like to see in the next superintendent and received 409 responses on a communitywide survey.

Becca Lamon of Kendallville, Indiana has been named superintendent at Ball-Chatham schools after a national search, replacing Douglas Wood.

The board hopes to hire its next superintendent by the end of April.

As I reflect on the past six years and look toward the exciting future ahead for Brainerd Public Schools, I have great pride in the accomplishments that have occurred in partnership with our outstanding Board of Education, dedicated district staff, talented students, supportive parents/families, and our ever-generous community.

The board scheduled a special meeting Jan. 24 to begin working with consultants.
