Governor, thank you very much for being with us. You squeaked home. A bit of a close election. You were not quite at the 60 threshold for a wailing. I am a republican in new jersey. I am just worried right getting over the finish line. It was gratifying. What was striking was to look at the detail of the exit polls. The latino vote, over 25 of the black vote, running against a woman democratic candidate. All in a state where president vote a year of the ago. A lot of questions about the future o...

Legislators. Most americans dont know who their state legislators are. There is an anti choice, rightwing majority that is able to do this state a state. About the much backlash against the changes in this country. That whitery clear women are not having enough children. Why the issue the issues go together. The antiimmigration, antibirth control, antiabortion, and so on. We have to take back our state legislature. Citing the example of working moms versus stayathome moms, a questioner asked wha...

Shouldve known better were saying that it would not matter if we failed to meet our obligations. I think that changed the discussion, as you see today, being able to fairly easily extend the debt limit. But i remain frustrated a lot of days that things that should be easy, that everybody can agree on are hard to do because of the super power of minorities here. Some already have said that you may have higher aspirations. Forget it. This is as high as it goes. 58 years old. When i decided to do t...

Senator Heidi Heitkamp, a democrat from north dakota. I want to begin with one of your campaign ads. You describe your mom as a janitor, your dad as someone who never finished high school and you are one of seven. What was that like . We did not think it was all that rare. For us, it was not odd. Our dad was...

Something that i think is an issue for journalists and citizens for the next 20 years, which is theres been a distinction in law and more generally between metadata and content, so some people have a thought that if government has access to your phone calls, thats really troubling. If they have access to metadata, meaning what numbers are calling what numbers, thats a completely different problem. We in the review group are uneasy with that distinction. That if the government has access to knowl...
