Schott AG has reaffirmed its commitment to the Vietnamese market by fighting against substandard products that may pose health and safety risks to consumers.

Shares in medical vials manufacturer Schott Pharma rose 11% on their trading debut on Thursday in Germany's largest initial public offering (IPO) so far this year. Shares in the company were changing hands at around 30 euros ($31.6) in morning trading in Frankfurt, up from the 27 euros paid by investors in the IPO, adding to signs that Europe's IPO market is picking up. BERLIN (Reuters) -Investor demand for shares in the medical vials division of Schott AG exceeds the deal size in its initial public offering, including the greenshoe option, banks told investors on Tuesday, an hour after the start of the subscription period. Reuters reported in early September that Schott was targeting proceeds of at least 800 million euros in the deal, making it Germany's largest IPO so far this year.

The Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance (DMS) on April 25 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Schott AG, a leading group in the areas of specialty glass, glass-ceramics and glass innovations from Germany, aiming to promote cooperation in combating counterfeits products and enforcing intellectual property (IP) rights of Schott AG brands in Vietnam.

The joint venture between Germanys specialty glass company SCHOTT AG and Indian group Kaisha, manufactures pharma packaging products such as vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges used to package life-saving medications.

Mirko Goetze, VP & Head of Regional Information Solutions, Schott AG shared that with SAITS’ establishment in Malaysia, it’s current headcount of 30 highly-skilled IT staff is expected to grow to as many as 150 over the next two to five years.
