A powerful monsoon deluge Friday afternoon brought widespread flooding to Flagstaff neighborhoods. It was the third time this week that flooding from recent wildfire burn scars inundated neighborhoods.

The Flagstaff area this year has endured two large and devastating wildfires in short succession: April’s Tunnel Fire and then the Pipeline Fire that began almost three weeks ago. KNAU's Ryan Heinsius talks to Coconino National Forest Flagstaff District Ranger Matt McGrath about what might need to change in how area public lands are managed in order to prevent another fire on the San Francisco Peaks.

Officials at Grand Canyon National Park have lifted heightened stage 2 fire restrictions as monsoon rains have lowered fire danger in the region, but will limit fires to established campgrounds.

Fire restrictions in many areas of northern Arizona were lifted Tuesday following the recent monsoon moisture. The Coconino and Kaibab national forests are again allowing campfires and other activities that had been banned since early May following the Tunnel Fire.

Officials in Northern Arizona have finished their field data that will help estimate how bad the Pipeline burned the soil.

Coconino National Forest officials have released the soil burn severity map for the Pipeline Fire that scorched 26,500 acres on the San Francisco Peaks.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office Monday downgraded several areas from Go to Set status that had been threatened by two wildfires.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the U.S. Forest Service has arrested a man in connection with the fire.

For three days, Reuben Gibbs worked to put out spot fires. His own home even going from, ‘Set’ to ‘Go’ status at one point. But when he got home Tuesday, thankfully the evacuation orders had been lifted.

Flagstaff residents had to leave their homes when the Pipeline Fire erupted. The Salsa Brava restaurant owner made sure many of them had a good meal.
