The first time Claudia Oliver sold Girl Scout cookies, she sold the most in her Girl Scout troop.
That taste of success so many years ago was an indication of things to come. After a long and rewarding career, Oliver chose to retire last month from her position as a multimedia sales executive with the media company, Gannett.
“I chose to retire in December because I took advantage of a voluntary severance program,” she said. “I had been thinking about when I would retire and this came up and seemed like it was right for me.”
Before starting her career in sales, Oliver, a Middleboro native now living in Scituate, was working as the health, physical education and recreation director at the Cambridge YMCA.
