Funding has been secured by Louth CC to commence work on some of Dunleer s notorious footpaths.
Provisional marking and scanning for utilities has taken place on 50m of footpath at St Brigid s Terrace on the Dundalk Road and 150m of pathway from Drumgoole s house to the fire station in the town.
Residents have been crying out for repairs on both stretches for years.
Finally, at last week s area council meeting, it was revealed that the council have secured the funds to do the work. The money is there to do the work and hopefully it can be done this month but might be held back with the ongoing restrictions, engineer Declan MacMahon stated.
