Interim Superintendent Steve Mazzi said he is going to begin gathering information from employees who resign from jobs with Marion City Schools.

The board voted 3-1 to contract with Columbus-based K-12 Business Consulting, Inc. to do the search for the districts next superintendent.

The $55,000 audit will be performed by Mosaic Education Network, LLC, a consulting company led by CEO Dr. Melissa Crum.

The districts administrative transition would be difficult for any organization, but the boards infighting will make it significantly harder.

"If there is peace on the board, that peace would run down to the superintendents, the principals, the administrators," Jackie Peterson said.

When looking at the data and anecdotal evidence, every public district experienced an increase in unruly behavior since the 2018 - 2019 schoolyear.

Two board members expressed concern that the curriculum could drive younger readers to explore inappropriate reading material.

Marion City Schools Board of Education President Leslie Schneider resigned Monday.

School-board member-elect Scott Weibling said there is a disconnect from what is happening at schools and what the board thinks is happening.
