PREBLE COUNTY Recent snowfall was a factor in a crash on U.S. 127 that killed one person and sent two more to the hospital on Thursday, Feb. 11.
The two-vehicle fatal crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on U.S. 127, just north of Orphans Road.
The preliminary investigation determined that a blue Ford Taurus was traveling north on U.S. 127 when the driver, Gilliajn Barcy, age 20 of Greenville, lost control after she encountered snow on the roadway.
Her vehicle traveled left of center and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck head-on that was traveling south, driven by Josef Pfister, age 50 of Utica, Ohio.
