After five terms as mayor, Gail Coniglio announced Wednesday she is not seeking re-election once her term ends in March.
In an email, Coniglio thanked residents and said it had been an honor to serve the residents of this island paradise for the last 14 years.
Coniglio also announced that Town Council member and former council president Danielle Moore will be running for the mayor s seat. According to the town clerk s office, Moore filed the required paperwork Wednesday morning. It is my privilege to pass the mayoral mantle to Dani Moore for her continued leadership. She has served for six years as [a] Town Council member, ready to tackle all issues with her steady and balanced approach to problem solving, Coniglio said in the email.
