Chvrches are back with a new single.
He Said She Said premiered on Annie Mac s BBC Radio 1 show and arrives three years after the release of the Glasgow trio s third album Love Is Dead .
Cast across swelling synthesizers, programmed beats and shimmery keyboard melodies, the alt-pop track was recorded during the enforced COVID-19 lockdown, while Lauren Mayberry and Martin Doherty were in Los Angeles and Iain Cook was in Glasgow. Discussing its lyrics, which tackles sexism, vocalist Mayberry said: Like everyone, I ve had a lot of time to think and reflect over the past year; to examine experiences I had previously glossed over or deeply buried. I feel like I have spent a lot of my life (personally and professionally) performing the uncomfortable balancing act that is expected of women and it gets more confusing and exhausting the older I get.
