The Post Office's IT helpdesk was instructing Fujitsu, the maker of faulty accounting software, to change sub-postmaster accounts more than a decade ago, according to leaked recordings.

Forensic accountants discovered direct instructions from the Post Office to Fujitsu, instructing the alteration of sub-postmaster accounts.

The former chief executive had been briefed about allegations concerning the existence of the remote unit at Fujitsus Bracknell headquarters in 2013.
