Camas history comes alive during First Friday

April 7 First Friday to honor Camas history

From prunes to paper, this month’s First Friday event in downtown Camas will celebrate everything that went into making Camas what it is today.

Exhibition: "Make Others See", sculpture by Harriett Davis Cortez

"Make Others See", a one-person exhibition of sculpture by Harriett Davis Cortez, opens 6-9 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at the Second Story Gallery in the Healing Center, 2372 St. Claude Ave.  The show’s title comes from a quote by Edgas Degas, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”  Cortez uses found objects and eccentric materials in her mixed media, conceptual sculpture, with the goal of creating subjective dialogs, often unique to each viewer.
