Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials Tuesday updated the plans for building, replacing and renovating schools with the $2.5 billion in bonds that voters approved in 2023.

You wouldnt know it passing 7th and Highland today, but for nearly a century, the northwest corner was home to one of the earliest high schools in the city. Later, it was the site of an elementary school. Now, its an educational institution of higher learning.

The Levine Museum of the New South's KnowCLT app lets users walk through uptown Charlotte and see what the former Brooklyn neighborhood looked like via augmented reality. The museum says other neighborhoods could be added in the future.
