Strike ballot deadlines will be spread across several weeks meaning that any industrial action will not take place until after the summer holidays in the new term in September.
Although there is no agreement on ballots and unified strike action across the education sector, all the unions are agreed that the threat of strike action will be suspended at the drop of a hat if the Education Secretary Gillian Keegan agrees to further negotiations.
LONDON (Reuters) - Members of the NASUWT union in England are to be balloted on industrial action after becoming the latest teachers' group to reject a government pay offer, the union said on Saturday. | 08:34am
The result does not reflect “apathy” on the part of educators. It is entirely due to the lack of any confidence by workers in the NASUWT leadership to wage a struggle to overturn the decades-long dismantling of state education in which the unions have been fully complicit.
