Rajasthan: Section 144 imposed in Jaipur till May 9 in view of Karauli violence - After the disturbance caused by the Karauli violence incident, Section 144 has been imposed in Jaipur for one month.

Police have also issued a circular to all officials to ensure adequate security arrangements for festivals, including proper vigilance of sensitive areas where processions and rallies might pass through.

Jaipur District Collector imposed section 144 citing the possibility of "disturbance of law and order and traffic congestion"  as protests are being held without permission.

Section 144 has been imposed as a precautionary measure in view of the upcoming festival.

People above 60 years of age, children below 12 years of age, women, government officials, and police personnel are exempted from the ban.

The movement of any person or group and motor vehicle is banned within a radius of 5 km from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am in Assam's Sivasagar.

Section 144 imposed in Rajasthans Karauli after communal violence - After the violent communal clashes in Rajasthan’s Karauli, the authorities have decided to impose a curfew and suspend the internet in the region.

Subsequently, tension reached its peak between the two communities and clashed erupted and which also resulted in the arson of shops and vehicles.
