Share Ohio State redshirt-junior JonErik Alford shot a 1-under 70 on Tuesday at Beechmont Country Club in Beachwood, Ohio to earn one of seven qualifying spots out of the US Open Local Qualifier. Alford, a Johns Creek, Ga., native, made three birdies and two bogeys in his round. He finished fifth in the 120-player field.
